The New Mexico Jewish Storytelling Festival 2024 promises more stories, more workshops, and more opportunities to bask in the world of Jewish story.
This three day festival has something for everyone:
Friday night schedule: Celebrate a Storyteller’s Shabbat:; Potluck & Open Mic (6:30 - 9:00 PM)
Saturday Schedule: Story Shabbat Torah Service; Rebbe’s Tische; Storyteller Mark Binder; Tell me a story (skills & techniques workshop with Cherie Karo Schwartz, Hvadallah (10 AM - 9 PM)
Saturday night: Havdallah: Followed by Pilviskai: My Father’s Village: with Karen Golden & Klezmer Music & dancing with the Nahalat Shalom Community Klezmer Gand. “Pilviskai” is not for young children.
Sunday Schedule: Children’s program; performance by students from Nahalat Shalom, Tell me a Story (part II), Interactive Performance with STNM’s Bob Kanegis, Tell me a Story Performance and Festival closing. (10 AM - 3:30 PM) (10 AM - 9 PM)
Featuring: Oro Anahory-Librowicz, Mark Binder, Gerald Fierst, Rabbi Lynn Gotleib and Peninnah Schram., and more.
Fully HYBRID festival will be attended live by storytellers traveling from Colorado, George, Oregon, California and more, making Albuquerque the Jewish storytelling destination.
