The Forest

The Forest can draw us into deep spaces or lead us through its darkness to wide-open vistas. In it can be found hawks’ nests, witches’ cottages, and magic mushrooms. Even Sleeping Beauty’s castle, hidden by a tangle of briars, might reveal itself. Or a dense thicket hiding an internal truth.

Then there is the Japanese practice of forest bathing: improving health and well-being by spending time among the trees, breathing deeply.

Do you have a forest story? Literal or symbolic, verdant or scorched. Filled with menacing shadows or joyous birdsong. Please bring it and take us into the woods!

Does this bring a story to mind, be it traditional, personal, literary? It may be related to these ideas, or, you may bring another tale to tell—something you’re concocting, something you’d like to practice, a story new or old, at our StoryCrafters gathering on June 8th. Eight minutes or less please.

We look forward to hearing your story. Listeners as well as tellers are welcomed.

If you are newly joining us, we ask that you take your first session to listen to our stories and to observe our process.

Please RSVP and/or ask questions to both Lucinda and Regina.
