Theme

This time of year marks the dawn rising of Sirius, the Dog Star, brightest star in our sky other than our Sun. To the Egyptians, the “Dog Days” (July 3-August 11) were a blessing; to the Greeks and Romans, a curse. For some of us, the heat of summer is a blessing; for others, we feel like we are “going to the dogs.” The definition of that phrase is: “deteriorating shockingly”. Wow!

Got a story about “going to the dogs”, or a myth about Sirius? There are tons of them from cultures around the world, as you can see in the website below.

Or perhaps you have a story about a personal Dog Days adventure, with or without a dog.

Your story could be something new you’re developing, or an old favorite, or one that’s not at all related to the topic. Listeners as well as tellers are welcomed.

We look forward to gathering with you for the stories. Traditional or personal, original or literary. We’d love to hear it. Eight minutes or less please.

If you are newly joining us, we ask that you take your first session to listen to our stories and to observe our process.

RSVP

Please RSVP to get the link by emailing the Program Coordinators, Lucinda and Regina. Check our calendar for a new theme at the beginning of each month.
