The novelist J.K. Rowling once said, “there’s always room for a story that can transport people to another place.” But what if that place we’re transported to is here—inside the rich web of life of our Mother Earth—and her story, told through us, becomes a tool for learning and teaching our children and ourselves about nature?

Join Michelle Adam on a special storytelling adventure! The objective of the class is to expand our imagination in relationship to nature; to awaken a soulful journey within ourselves and the earth; and to discover how to create and tell stories that serve as teaching tools for children. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher, an adventurous spirit, or you want to create children’s stories centered on nature, this class is designed to be a dynamic journey that serves our earth, our children, and all of us.
Together, we will explore different writings and stories told from the perspective of nature as the main character. We will reflect on ways we connect with Mother Earth through writing prompts. As a children’s author and storyteller, I’ll also share my own creative process and introduce the Japanese Kamishibai Theatre boxes used to tell stories in Japanese parks in the 1930s. We’ll learn how to create our own stories and theatre boxes that can be used as teaching or storytelling tools. Finally, we’ll make time to share our stories with the group!
