Tortuga Storytelling Series: Looking Towards Home: A return for those who served

  • Tortuga Gallery 901 Edith Blvd SE Albuquerque, New Mexico (map)

Tortuga Storytelling Series - a collaboration between Storytellers of New Mexico and Tortuga Gallery - returns this November with “Looking Towards Home: A return of those who served”.

“Looking Towards Home: A return of those who served” will give wide interpretation to what some experienced when they came home from war.. Elaine Muray will be performing three very different pieces on the subject including a folktale, a personal narrative, and a hybrid of a story that integrates a soldier’s tale with a well-known fictitious story. Artist Eliza Schmid, whose art is in special exhibition at Tortuga during November, will give honor to her father with a special reading from his writings of his time in a labor camp in Russia.
