Beauty Way: Into the Matriarchy is the centerpiece play of the 2nd Annual Native American Theater Festival produced by Two Worlds

DATE/TIME: May 5th at 7:30 PM

LOCATION: National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 4th St., SW, Albuquerque, NM (Bank of America Theatre)

STNM's own Kim Delfina Gleason and other members of the Two Worlds ensemble perform in Beauty Way: Into the Matriarchy, directed by Lori Tapahonso.

This play is an interactive storytelling and multi-media performance featuring the narratives, experiences, and cultural history of Matriarchal Native & Indigenous and Chicana Women. Narrated by Spider Woman, a traditional Navajo deity. Spider Woman unwebs the stories of these women who come up against everyday personal struggles of self-identity, and inequality in the world.

Two Worlds’ Native American Theater Festival amplifies the reclamation of Native identity through the power of storytelling and accurate representation in theater. Through this series of performances Two Worlds invites you to celebrate the rich tapestry of Indigenous cultures, traditions and experiences, from the Pacific Northwest, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
